Requests
A request is a saved HTTP call: a method, a URL, and the parameters, headers, body and authentication that go with it. Requests live in a workspace, so everyone in the workspace can open, send and improve the same requests.
In this section
- Build a request — create a request, set the method and URL, add query parameters and headers, save, duplicate and delete.
- Path variables — use
:namesegments in the URL and fill them in from the Params tab. - Request body — send raw JSON, XML or text, form data or URL-encoded fields.
- Authentication — Basic Auth, Bearer Token and API Key, and how requests inherit auth from collections and the workspace.
- Send a request and read the response — send, inspect the body, headers and timing, and understand network errors.
- Execution history — every send is recorded and shared with your workspace.
